This is why i am a huge fan of RUSSEL BRAND.

'I find the potential for mayhem exhilarating - society's only held together by a few ideas. I know those ideas are quite entrenched, and the reason we have a police force and an army is to maintain that status quo, but at moments like this, that whole apparatus can suddenly look quite vulnerable, and i find that thrilling.' Russel Brand

He presents himself as an idiot, but for me that is the art of what he stands for. So many mistake his extremist approach to 'matter of fact' for ignorance. He has experienced so much in his life and has hung around with the likes of heroin addicts living on the streets one day, only to go to a celebrity party the next day. In fact no, he has been a heroin addict on the street and also been a celebrity at a celebrity party. He understands the humour behind the illusion of society, and he speaks about it so freely that people are shocked, people laugh because they are shocked that he says things 'you just don't say'. He is intelligent and he is knowledgeable but most of all he is real, he is real above all else, above his own dignity at times. It seems there have been points where his straight forward approach to his beliefs have actually given a contrasting impression, making him appear weird, 'lost the plot', stupid, unworthy of respect, deranged.

I just think he is a brilliant example of someone who has persisted in who they are, and there direction despite judgement, times of struggle, self doubt from others as well as himself and huge periods of blindness and feeling lost. An inspiration for anyone feeling the pressures that the individual inevitably does. I would highly recommend his first book if you struggle to see the man behind the obvious joke. I am yet to read his recent release.
